Melody Project session

Music as a reason to show up.

We pair high school students with seniors at local assisted living facilities for regular, recurring sessions — not performances, but conversations. Students bring playlists, stories, and presence. Seniors bring decades of lived experience. Both leave changed.

No musical experience required.

What we're working on.

01

Tackling senior isolation

37% of adults over 50 report a lack of companionship. We address that through consistent, recurring visits — not one-time performances.

02

Music and memory

Music activates memory and reduces anxiety in ways that conversation alone can't. Our sessions are built around that finding.

03

Giving students something real to do

There's no shortage of volunteer programs. There's a shortage of ones that ask students to be genuinely present with another person.
