On the Horizon
Gemma Wang will present The Melody Project's intervention model and survey development work as part of a symposium on generativity chaired by Dr. Sarah Neller, examining diverse pathways through which reminiscence, music-based engagement, and intergenerational relationships cultivate generativity and community resilience in later life.
Invited panelist. Gemma Wang will share her experience founding The Melody Project and the case for engaging young people in aging advocacy, encouraging the next generation of student leaders to take ownership of loneliness as a public health issue worth solving.

Gemma Wang attended the F4SC-AN Annual Summit and met with Senators Chris Murphy and Rick Scott to share The Melody Project's work and make the case for federal support of community-based intergenerational programs as a scalable response to the loneliness epidemic.

As co-leader of the Intergenerational Learning, Research, & Community Engagement (ILRCE) Interest Group within the Gerontological Society of America, Gemma Wang was invited to present in a Lightning Talk Series alongside researchers and practitioners exploring innovative approaches to aging-in-community.
Gemma Wang presented to an audience of 75+ researchers, clinicians, and policymakers from Harvard, UCLA, Johns Hopkins, and beyond — discussing The Melody Project's evidence-based model, volunteer structure, and chapter expansion strategy.
Gemma Wang, Lena Thompson PhD MPH, and Jordan P. Lewis PhD FGSA presented original research at the Gerontological Society of America's Annual Scientific Meeting. The work was published in Innovation in Aging (Oxford University Press) and indexed on PubMed/NIH NLM.
